Tsavtat

The city of Tsavtat, located on the island of Rat, is considered one of the oldest cities in the country. Archaeologists found ancient buildings of the 7th century on the territory of the city. Scientific studies have shown that the city was founded in the 7th century BC. It used to be a Roman colony called Epidaurus. She was the second in size after the ancient city of the salon.

In the 4th century, due to a strong earthquake, the city was greatly destroyed. Only its central part survived. They tried to restore the greatness of the epidavior for a long time, and in 614 after the Avar-Slavic invasion, the city was completely destroyed. The city was restored only in the 15th century, and it began to be called the Tsavtat.

Tsavtat is a popular Croatian resort in the Dubrovnik region. Here, thanks to the geographical position, clean sea, beautiful nature and endless beaches.
