Skoda Rapid budget sedan will receive Russian registration

The segment of budget sedans currently remains very promising for automakers. Many companies have already introduced their players – Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris, Volkswagen Polo and many others. The time also came for the Czech brand of Skoda, which will offer Russian customers its novelty, namely the budget model of Rapid. Production is planned to be launched on the territory of the Russian Federation. The car will be intended for the domestic market.

The debut show of the novelty will be held in the fall of this year at the International Parisian Autage Hall. Then the model will go on sale in Europe. The start of car sales in the Russian market is scheduled for 2013. The novelty will take in the Skoda lineup a line between Skoda Fabia and Octavia. The manufacturer notes that it is on the Rapid model that a large bet is made in the development of the brand.

In 2011, Skoda was able to sell more than 74 thousand of its models in Russia. This is 62 percent more than in 2010. It is worth noting that the Russian market remains promising for Skoda.

The start of the production of Skoda cars in Russia was given in 2007. And it happened in Kaluga, where Octavia and Fabia began to gather. In 2011, the production of Yeti crossovers began. Currently, Russia also produces a wide range of models under the brands Volkswagen, Ford, Toyota, Renault and Peugeot.
