Parquet from time to time loses its aesthetic attractiveness, and many owners of the parquet floor are thinking about returning it to its original appearance. You can polish the parquet on your own without resorting to the help of professionals, following such rules.
In order to polish the parquet, it is necessary to have a grinding machine and abrasive material of varying degrees of granularity, as well as a “boot”, t. e. grinding machine designed to work in hard -to -reach places. Since this work is very dusty, it is recommended to use a vacuum cleaner for periodic cleaning of the room.
The initial stage of work is the cycle of parquet. To do this, use coarse -grained abrasive No. 40. The first thing to do is to walk around the perimeter of the room along the walls in both directions, while installing the width of the drum for 200 mm. After that, by half reducing the capture of the drum, you should walk along the diagonals, and then move around the room in the direction of the Parquet pattern.
It is necessary to ensure that the abrasive material does not end, add it as needed. To adjust the load load on the cleaned surface, use a special adjusting grinding screw.
Parquet grinding is the second stage of work. Abrasive material of smaller granularity is used here. Moreover, the granularity of the abrasive must be gradually reduced along the course of work. At this stage, it is necessary to eliminate all the roughness and bumps that remained after the cycle.
When the main area of the floor is polished, you should go through a “boot” in all inaccessible places, bringing them to a state corresponding to the state of the rest of the area of the polished parquet.
For delicate grinding, use abrasive with the least granularity. Try to minimize the load on the cleaned surface, move exclusively in the direction of the wood fibers of the parquet board. At this stage, it is necessary to finally eliminate all the roughness of the processed surface of the parquet.
The degree of readiness of the polished parquet can be checked by drawing a hand on it with a palm. If it is smooth, without roughnesses and a burr, then the work can be considered completed.
