PVC window service life.
More recently, high -quality plastic windows were the subject of luxury, an indicator of prosperity and not everyone could afford them. But time is also PVC double -glazed windows, turn from a reason for pride, into an ordinary component of our everyday life, into a banal item of interior, which provides us with comfort and guarantees safety from hacks.
So what is the reason for such a successful conquest of the market and love of consumers? The answer is very prosaic, t. To. The main advantage of plastic windows is their durability. After all, the period of non -precious operation of plastic windows has been calculated for decades.
Let us give an example:
In 1990, in connection with the reconstruction of an office building in Frankfurt, about a hundred windows from polyvinyl chloride profiles were dismantled, which were installed back in the mid-1960s. And it should be noted that absolutely all elements of plastic double -glazed windows after so many years of operation worked perfectly and without fail.
With a deeper study of possible deformations of the surfaces of the PVC windows, only a few minor defects were found. On double-glazed windows, a very, very thin and translucent plaque was revealed, which was formed due to the effects of oxygen and ultraviolet radiation.
The formed protective layer of plaque, which, to some extent, contributes to the deterioration of gloss, still protected the PVC of the windows from future atmospheric influences. And only thanks to this layer the windows successfully functioned for so many years.
And of course, it is worth taking into account the fact that plastic windows installed almost 30 years ago significantly lagged behind the technical characteristics of modern days produced in niches.
Let’s look at what factors affect the windows from PVC:
1) ultraviolet radiation – spring and summer
2) low negative air temperatures – in winter
3) daily temperature transitions through 0 ° C, moisture and heat.
4) lack of ventilation of external profile chambers.
This is exactly what helps the development of chemical and physical processes, which actually lead to wear of plastic windows.
But even though the plastic windows may fade after time, the studies have proved that the strength of plastic profiles during aging increases, and the change in the color of the shades remains within the limits of the requirements of regulatory documentation.
Thus, we can conclude that for modern plastic windows – 40 years, this is far from the limit.
