Aerated concrete is an effective modern building material. Houses are very often built from it. This is warm material, however, despite this, insulation of the facade from aerated concrete is extremely necessary to increase the energy efficiency of the building.
Of course, you can just make very thick walls. However, this is much more expensive than the organization of thermal insulation. In addition, many acquire ready -made aerated concrete houses. Thus, the insulation of facades is primarily beneficial from an economic point of view.
Why is it important to create external thermal insulation? Yes, internal thermal insulation is faster, and simpler, and cheaper. However, it solves the existing problem only partially. With the help of external insulation, “dew point”, or a place in a wall with zero temperature, can be removed out, so that an optimal microclimate will be created inside the room.
Mineral wool or polystyrene is most often selected as a heater material. Among the builders there are eternal disputes, which of these materials is better. Foam is cheaper material. At the same time, thermal insulation characteristics and both materials are approximately the same. But their vapor permeability is radically different. Mineral wool is a material that does not interfere with aerated concrete walls to “breathe”. But with polystyrene, the situation is different – it almost does not pass steam. Thus, it is better to pay a little more by acquiring mineral wool.
It is very important to choose the right thickness of the insulation. Laying thin two-, three-, five-centimeter plates is economically pointless. Cost of consumables (glue, mesh, etc. D.), as well as the cost of work does not depend on what thickness the insulation is, so saving on thickness is unreasonable. Optimally use slabs 10 centimeters thick.
Insulation methods are different. This is “wet” light and severe insulation, dry insulation, brick cladding. The most optimal in terms of price, the appearance of the facade and its reliability is the wet facade. Choose its light or heavy option? It all depends on which facing material you will use.
