Bearing ceiling. Choose ceiling coatings.
Several types of materials are used to cite the ceiling. These are polystyrene foam, decorative and drywall coatings, different both in their properties and by mounting methods.
Polistyle ceiling foam coatings are convenient to use. They are stiff, moisture resistant, not subject to decay, do not attract dust and do not attract statistical discharges. Installing them is not particularly difficult. Polistyle ceiling foams have different colors and textures. Their disadvantages are low strength and alloy. Therefore, such coatings must be placed at a distance of 25-30 centimeters from incandescent lamps.
They are glued with universal polymer glue of the Code of Criminal Procedure or polyvinyl acetate glue PVA.
Decorative ceiling coatings are mainly used for decoration of rooms with high ceilings – offices, shops, and so on. They are made from chipboard or fiberboard, which are pasted with laminating film of different sizes, veneer or foil. The surface of the plates is smooth or embossed.
Such ceiling coatings contain substances that distinguish formaldehyde. Therefore, they are considered harmful to health, and when buying such a material, you need to pay attention to the presence of the E1 sign on it. It indicates the compliance of the product with environmental requirements. In addition, the installation of decorative coatings leads to underestimation of the ceiling, so they are not suitable for rooms with low ceilings.
Plastic panels are one of the varieties of decorative ceiling coatings. They are hollow plastic boards. The boards have grooves and protrusions for fasteners. Plastic panels are aesthetic, light, durable and moisture -resistant.
Decorative or plastic ceiling coatings on the frame are attached.
The frame of the frame requires many additional materials and equipment. These are, for example, thin flat rails for sealing of joints, wooden parts, decorative strips for finishing the joints of the plates, metal mounting brackets for connecting the coating with the design of the fastening, nails, screws and so on.
Plasterboard ceiling coatings are two layers of chipboard with a layer of gypsum. Their various varieties have different characteristics. These are fire -resistant, and moisture resistant, and heat – and soundproofing properties that are predominant in one or another variety of gypsum -plated ceiling coatings. Their main advantage is the ability to hide even significant irregularities in the ceiling. In addition, plasterboard ceiling coatings are very convenient for installing lighting and insulating equipment in them. But how finishing material such plates are not used. After installing them, the ceiling must either be painted or finished with decorative slabs.
Another drawback of drywall coatings is their weight. One square meter weighs at least 15 kilograms without fastening design. Therefore, they can be assembled only on strong ceilings and a whole construction team. They are installed on a metal frame.
