Furniture belonging to the Rococo era

Rococo is a synthetic style that connects together all the constituent elements of a holistic architectural composition. This style gave rise to a new stage in the development of art to create furniture. There are no straight lines and symmetry in this style, furniture forms are saturated with sophistication and intimacy. This style produces sophisticated and exquisite chairs, canapes and sun loungers, light sideboard, offices, secretaries and chests of drawers. On and today you can choose furniture in an exclusive version.

The chest of drawers is the most favorite form of furniture of this period. Forms of the chest of drawers, which became wavy at the very beginning of the century, change towards increasing the dynamics. The walls of the chests of drawers are bent, both in the horizontal and in the vertical direction, their surface ceases to be flat. The dresser becomes “pot -bellied”. The legs of a chest of drawers are very curved curls. The contours of the legs are emphasized by thin lines of bronze jewelry, while the outer ribs are sent to the side edges, and the internal ones are in the lines that outline the lower part of the chests of drawers.

The walls of the chests of drawers are covered by elegant marquetry patterns, they are decorated with Chinese varnish or sign in the Chinese style – landscapes, openwork bridges, turrets, all kinds of figures. At the same time, chests of drawers are decorated in such a way that the boxes can be hidden as much as possible, with the nomination of which, it was possible to cut the entire composition in the most unexpected place.

In furniture forms for sitting, the nature of women’s clothing was also taken into account. Everything was subordinated exclusively to sophistication, as well as beauty. The upholstery became softer and, finally, the seat began to be replaced by a tight canvas tightly, on which there is a downy beaten pillow.

The pillows were located on seats, on the backs and armrests, which were offended by silk with large colors of the natural size, which are scattered among silver divorces or with different scenes of pastorals.

However, nevertheless, the moment came when Rococo gradually began to replace various other styles. But, at the same time, he was so much popular in France, as well as beyond, that the furniture, which was later created, had new forms, was often decorated with motives traditional for the Rococo style.
