Rules for calculating a wooden staircase to the second floor

If in a private house a stationary design for the message between the floors is installed, it should be in strict accordance with the current quality and safety standards. In this regard, a calculation is necessary, on the basis of which the most suitable design will be selected.

The first stage is the determination of a place for placing a wooden staircase, with a number of measurements. Here it is required to establish what is the height between floors from floor to floor, which area will be occupied by the design, as well as its overall dimensions.

These parameters are the most important, because on their basis the staircase will be selected. So, if the placement area is very small, you will have to make a choice in favor of a screw option – it is not too convenient, but very compact – by visiting the site, you can make sure that.

The second important component of the calculation is the determination of the parameters of the steps. Here you need to establish how many steps will be required, as well as what the sizes of each of them will be.

In most cases, the height of the step is in the range from 15 to 18 centimeters, however, ultimately, it all depends on the design features. For example, for a long staircase, this indicator will be smaller, and for a short one – more. To determine the quantity, it is enough to divide the distance between the levels into a previously set height of one step.

It is noteworthy that one march should have no less than three steps, but there is a limit by the maximum number – 18. If you cannot meet one march, you will have to divide the stairs into several such parts divided by sites. The sizes of the steps cannot vary in one march – this is a mandatory security requirement, because if a step flows, there will be a risk of falling.

At the next stage, the distance between the steps is determined – the so -called. The basic value here is 30 centimeters, however, small deviations are possible both in large and less.

Knowing all the parameters indicated above, you can establish what the length of the designed wooden staircase will be – it is enough to multiply the number of steps by their tread. The size of one is deducted from the resulting value.

All these calculation parameters are important mainly for people who plan to make a staircase on their own. If it is decided to buy a staircase to the second floor, all calculations and design work can be safely entrusted to specialists.
